Born in London, Smith completed an Erasmus Placement at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milan before gaining a first class honours degree in Fine Art at Leeds University. Her commissions include work for Modus Operandi and a permanent window installation for the United Reformed Church, Bloomsbury, London. In 2007 she was shortlisted for the ACE Trust Award for art in a religious context.
