Adam Neate first came to the public's attention by leaving thousands of his painting on the streets of London for people to find. Since then he has rapidly become one of Britain's most exciting young artists and a much-heralded painter at the forefront of a radical new movement in contemporary art. In August 2007 Adam's first one man show at Elms Lesters entitled Paints, Pots and Prints demonstrated his masterful use of different materials, garnering global interest. His gallery pieces, the majority of which are still painted on cardboard, have an immediacy and a raw energy, through the use of aerosols, marker pens, acrylic and gloss paints. Adam Neate is a fearless painter who is constantly experimenting with styles and techniques, ranging from his coveted shelf portraits, to complex three-dimensional cardboard works and narrative, social documentary paintings.
After a stay in Prague in the summer of 2008, Adam Neate painted a series of 'icons', inspired by the powerful religious legacy and imagery of the city.
